Haunted Halloween Pretzel Rods - Easy DIY Treats - Ghastly Ghost & Mischievous Monster

Over the weekend, I made a few trips to Target, as usual. During one of them, Little J decided that he wanted me to buy a really big drum of pretzel rods. Naturally, he had to also snack on them throughout the store.

My brain was filling up with fun ideas about what we could do with all of the pretzels. Since Halloween is right around the corner, it was only fitting that we should make some spooky treats!

Here's what you'll need to recreate the Ghastly Ghost and Mischievous Monster pretzel rods:

-pretzel rods
-white chocolate/baking morsels
-coconut flakes

If you're making both kinds (ghosts and monsters) you'll need 2 separate bowls for this project.

Melt the baking morsels according to the directions on the back of the package. I used half of the bag for the ghosts and the other half of the bag for the monsters.

Sprinkle coconut flakes onto another plate. Lay a sheet of wax paper down on your workspace.

Then, let the fun begin!

The boys had so much fun creating their pretzels. I'm not sure if they ate more than they decorated, but that was all part of the fun.

Little J loved sticking the eyeballs onto the green monsters! It was a job that he took very seriously, as you can tell in the pic above.

This was a messy afternoon, but well worth it to let the boys enjoy creating cute treats. Plus, it had been raining earlier, and the grass was a little too soggy and muddy to run around outside. So, I chose coconut flakes on the floor instead of mud...gotta pick your battles, I guess! :)

Lay your creations onto the wax paper when they are complete so they can dry. We left ours overnight.

The excess chocolate easily broke off, and they looked great!

You can wrap them up in a little cellophane bag and give them as a spooky treat to your friends. Enjoy, and happy haunting!

Jazziz Boca Raton - Date Night with Macy Gray and Cary Nokey

This past Friday night my husband and I went to Jazziz at Mizner Park in Boca Raton.

Grammy award winner, Macy Gray, was our entertainment for the evening. It was an incredible show! She, of course, sang her ever famous "I Try" and some of her new songs, too! Her music never gets old, and we were happy when she came back out for one last encore song at the audience's encouragement.

Also on tour with Macy Gray is Cary Nokey. Their music isn't easy to categorize, since it encompasses many genre's, but it's a combination of glam/electronic/rock/awesomeness...which can be summed up as: very good to listen to! Check out Cary Nokey on Sound Cloud to see what all the buzz is about.

The ambiance inside of Jazziz is amazing. Their food is great, and overall it was a very fun date night out! We are looking forward to going back again soon. Stop by Jazziz's website to see their full schedule of live performances from many of the biggest names in music entertainment!

Exercise Made Easier - Flip Belt Review

Flip Belt provided me with their products in order to facilitate this review. All opinions are 100% my own.

It's finally starting to feel a tiny bit like Fall here in South Florida. We have been able to get outside to exercise with the kids, instead of only working out inside of a gym. The kids love getting out for some fresh air, and I'm always happy to have a way to stay active without having to wait until the boys are asleep.

Hot Pink Flip Belt
The only thing about exercising outside is the common conundrum of where to store your essentials...keys, phone, money, and identification. Pockets are usually unreliable since things can fall out, and most women's workout clothes don't even have pockets!

Flip Belt is an amazing solution to keep your stuff comfortably stored close-by. It's a singular tube made of a moisture-wicking, spandex-lycra blend. So, it slides right on and it's not bulky at all (thank goodness!) It doesn't move, slip, or bounce so your stuff stays in place. Flip Belt is also machine washable! Music to a mom's ears :)

Flip Belt is so easy to use. You load your things into the tube part of the belt through the slits in the front. There's even a handy dandy key hook. The nice people at Flip Belt even will send you a waterproof bag to make sure your phone doesn't get funky.

I love that if I run over to the park across the street from our house with the kids, I don't even have to carry a purse or leave valuables in the stroller while I help them up-and-down the slides and swings. All of my necessities are held tight right around my waist :)

Their color selections are sure to match any outfit, and they come in a wide variety of sizes, which are available for both men and women.

A Toast To French Toast - yum! With Cascade Platinum #CascadeShiningReviews

This review was made possible by Double Duty Divas andCascade. I was provided the featured product free of charge to facilitate my review, but all opinions are 100% mine.

I have a confession...

Sometimes I make my kids breakfast for dinner.
As it turns out, they like it a lot.

So, we just recently tried a new French Toast recipe (from Alton Brown and the Food Network) and it came out pretty awesome!

The kids loved it! My mom brain is failing me at the moment, but I'm pretty sure that it was the baby's first time trying it. Little J has tried it before, and it's always a hit with him, too.

The grown ups also had a little "toast to French Toast" with some delicious mimosas! Hey, if you're gonna have breakfast for dinner, you better do it right! :)

We were gathered around the table to eat our food, and had some help from Cascade to take care of the dishes while we finished our meal.
No pre-wash necessary! You just put the dirty dishes in the dishwasher and get back to your party. How easy is that?!

Baby L was thrilled about the rinsing power of Cascade Platinum Rise Aid

Cheers to Cascade Platinum!

Enjoying some family, French Toast, Mimosas, and Cascade!

Little J has become super helpful lately, and quite the neat freak. He's obsessed with cleaning. When it comes to loading the dishwasher, it's one of his favorite things to do. So, he was really excited to help put the Cascade Platinum into the dishwasher. He did a pretty good job, too!

The dishes came out super clean. The champagne flutes were perfect!! No streaks, spots, or dirt left behind. Crystal clear glasses...ready for another round of mimosas! :)
